We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
PARENTS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION
The Parents and Friends Association (P&F) meets once a term and through its various committees, endeavours to support the school in providing a wonderful learning environment for our students. Being part of the P&F creates the opportunity to meet with other parents and friends while assisting your child’s school to change and grow.
All parents are encouraged to take an active part in this aspect of the school’s life. The P&F usually organises one social event each term. There are a number of sub-committees all of which do great work for the school. Sub-Committees are formed when specific tasks are required to be done by the P&F Association. Other activities might include:
- Welcome Back BBQ
- Mothers’ Day Breakfast
- Fathers’ Day Breakfast
- Fundraising Night
- St Therese’s Feast Day Sausage Sizzle
- Kindergarten Orientation
- Mother’s Day Stall
- Father’s Day Stall
Our school is very grateful to the number of families that respond to our needs throughout the year. These times further build the strong sense of community at St Therese’s.
NEWSLETTER
In order to keep parents well-informed about school activities and coming events, the newsletter is distributed via Compass every second Thursday. Parents without access to email may request a hard copy. It is recommended that parents always read the newsletter to ensure they are well informed of school events and dates.
